Mattel, Inc. and Off-White announced a new partnership creating a unique capsule collection of four original Monster High dolls. Each of the four dolls is done up in extraordinary Off-White runway ensembles, blending the signature fearless codes of the brand with Monster High’s adoration of identity and encouragement to accept and celebrate our differences. This collaboration connects the late Virgil Abloh’s creative vision and Monster High’s distinctive nature to develop a collection that embodies non-conformity and intersects the boundaries of toy culture, fashion, and art.

In one of his last projects, Abloh was adamant about the creation of the collection. Fueled by his desire to explore the world of toys, his close relationship with his children was at the forefront. Merging his love of streetwear with the unique identity of the Monster High brand, the Off-White looks are designed with “Monsterfication” and a musical punk twist.

The dolls included in the collection are Electra Melody- a sea monster making a fashionable splash in Off-White’s Spring 2018 Ready-to-Wear “DRESS” dress, mismatched gloves, and Off-White-inspired clear-wrapped heels. Her accessories are in the form of a doll-sized version of Off-White sunglasses and the iconic Burrow 22 shoulder bag. Harmonie Ghoul is a franken-monster who rises from the lab in a look inspired by the Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection, wearing a bold tiered checkered dress and red knee-high boots, one stating “NOT FOR WALKING” and the other “NOT FOR DANCING.” Her accessories are in the form of Off-White earrings and the Burrow 20 chain-link shoulder bag adorned with a custom Monster High Skullette keychain.

Raven Rhapsody is a gargoyle who gracefully slays in an ensemble from the Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection that creates an elevated sporty aesthetic. Raven can be seen in a fierce wings and horn hat and iconic Off-White accessories that include a black belt bag and neon pink logo earrings. Symphanee Midnight is a specter spirit who appears in an Off-White Fall 2020 Ready-to-Wear black ballgown, giving all the bridal-wear vibes with flashy ruffles and a contrasting windbreaker. Symphanee’s accessories are complete with chain-link jewelry and an Off-White Jitney 1.4 bag.

The packaging is meticulously designed with collectors in mind, with easily removable lids for collectors to be able to extract and reinsert her back inside without damage. The lettering is fine-tuned to construct an eloquent look and feel. The capsule collection invites fans of the Off-White and Monster High brand to embrace their originality in style and arrive just in time for Halloween.
