Fashion enthusiasts and sneaker aficionados alike are in for a treat as KENZO, the renowned fashion house, announces its collaboration with Japanese sportswear brand ASICS. Designed by KENZO’s Artistic Director, Nigo, the partnership introduces three gender-neutral sneaker styles set to hit the market this season. The highlight of this collaboration is the revival of the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 20, initially launched in 2013 as a cushioned running sneaker favored for its stability in running long distances. With KENZO’s reimagination, the shoe is now being elevated to new heights for both functionality and fashionability as the collaboration will help the brand further position itself in the sneaker game.

The sneaker features a top-layer midsole and outsole equipped with GEL technology, prioritizing comfort and style. Inspired by KENZO’s iconic tiger graphic, the shoe features print across the whole shoe, with faux-fur detailing on the upper surface. The color palette remains genderless with cyan blue being consistent in all three styles, with pairings such as a vibrant orange or more secluded off-white. The ASICS emblem graces the right tongue of the ensemble, while the iconic KENZO logo mirrors its presence on the left.

Nigo’s personal style resonates in the shoe, with a thoughtful fusion of street culture, hip-hop influences, and a genuine appreciation for graphic design. Renowned for seamlessly bridging the gap between streetwear and high fashion, this collaboration is no different, bringing together the luxury fashion house, with the well-loved Japanese athletic brand. It reintroduces a beloved sneaker model and blends the fashion house’s vibrant aesthetics with ASICS’ technical expertise, offering a fresh and exciting option for those seeking style and performance in their footwear.
